The colourful selection of ASICS shoes
How important is finding the right pair of running shoes? Very.
ASICS recently opened its newest boutique store at Suntec City Mall, along with a more comprehensive range of footwear suitable for different types of running. It serves as a great accompaniment to the new “Mix Up Your Run” concept. At the store, customers can easily identify the type of shoes they wish to check out – ‘Run Fast’, ‘Run Long’, ‘Run Natural’, or ‘Run Tough’.
The Suntec City Mall outlet is also home to the technologically-advanced ASICS Foot ID System. The first in Singapore, this machine offers foot shape and gait cycle analysis for customers, giving them a much better understanding of their feet and running style to match the perfect pair of shoes.
This is a free service and customers can make an appointment or simply walk-in. Just remember to wear knee-length pants or sports shorts for a hassle-free service. Do avoid dresses, skirts or tight long pants.

How does the ASICS Foot ID work?
1. The staff will first give you a Customer Registration Sheet for you to fill up and sign. For a soft copy of the analysis, include your email address so that it can be emailed to you.
2. Tiny stickers will be placed at strategic points on your feet so that the ASICS Foot ID machine can read and measure their shape and size (like arch height and heel angle), which is known as the static analysis. This highly detailed 3D foot mapping will be reflected on the TV screen (as shown in picture above).

3. Next, you will do a test run on the treadmill for the dynamic analysis. A camera will record your feet movement for analysis by the ASICS Foot ID.

What you will see:
The system will highlight your foot landing patterns and motion mechanics (underpronator, normal or overpronator). With an analysis of your running style in hand, you will have a more informed decision when buying your shoes! The right type of footwear can give the support your foot needs which can help realign the way you run, ultimately improving your overall performance.
So, be sure to visit the new ASICS outlet and register to try out the ASICS Foot ID system. After all, your feet deserve the best comfort and support to keep up with your active lifestyle!
