SAFRA Membership: Eligibility & Applications
Am I eligible to join SAFRA?
SAFRA Membership is open to all Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen), full-time National Servicemen (NSFs), SAF regulars and their dependants.
Membership categories depend on your NS status:
ORDINARY (A) MEMBERSHIP
For: All SAF Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) who have completed full-time National Service, as well as full-time National Servicemen (NSFs).
Applicants must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
Ordinary (A) Members will be converted to Ordinary (B) Members upon completion of their National Service liability (at the age of 50 years for officers and 40 years for other ranks).
ORDINARY (B) MEMBERSHIP
For: All SAF National Servicemen who have completed full-time National Service and are no longer liable for National Service.
Applicants must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
For: All serving members of the SAF, i.e., SAF Regulars and Defence Executive Officers.
VETERAN LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP
Please contact SAF Veterans’ League Membership at 6355 4507.
For: The female spouse and children aged between 5 to 20 years of SAFRA members (except those who are full-time National Servicemen, i.e. NSFs).
The membership for dependants run concurrently with the principal SAFRA Membership. Its validity and related privileges shall lapse when the principal SAFRA member resigns or ceases to be a SAFRA Member, or is suspended when his Membership fee is outstanding. Dependant Membership for children shall lapse when they reach 21 years of age.
Applicants can be Singapore citizens, permanent residents or foreigners.

I am an SAFVC member, how do I apply for SAFRA Associate membership?
Please note that SAFRA Membership application for SAFVC is strictly by invitation only, as such applications over the counter or by any other means without the official invitation are not applicable. Upon completion of 5 days of In-Camp Training, eligible SAFVC will receive an invitation from SAFRA via mail for a 2-year SAFRA Associate Membership. SAFVC can choose to sign up for SAFRA Associate Membership as well as Dependant Membership for his/her dependants. SAFVC Volunteers will need to write in to SAFRA Membership Services if they missed the initial invitation and SAFRA will review the SAFVC Volunteer's application. Upon the SAFVC Volunteer's Associate Membership expiry, a renewal invitation will also be sent to SAFVC Volunteers who are still eligible for SAFRA Membership.
How do I apply for SAFRA Membership?
You can apply for your SAFRA Membership through the mSAFRA mobile app, online via mySAFRA, at any SAFRA club (operating hours from 9am to 9pm) .

How long must I wait to receive my SAFRA Membership Card?
Applicants who sign up for a SAFRA membership at any of SAFRA Club (Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines, Toa Payoh or Yishun Country Club) will receive their membership card on the spot. For mail or online applications, your membership card will be sent to you in 3 weeks.

How do I renew my SAFRA Membership?
Renewal of your SAFRA Membership can be done using the following channels:
- Online via mySAFRA account
- mSAFRA mobile app
- Any SAFRA club using cash/NETS/Visa/Mastercard
- GIRO payment via mySAFRA
- By cheque (Made payable to 'SAFRA'). Please mail to SAFRA Membership Services Division, 2 Telok Blangah Way, Singapore 098803
You may also pay for SAFRA Membership via a Ministry/Statutory Board, or from the National Service Make-Up Pay. The deduction will cover current and advance subscriptions.
How much does it cost to renew my SAFRA membership?

I have not used SAFRA facilities or benefits for quite some time. Am I still required to pay membership subscription fees?
Membership is renewed automatically 2 months before the membership expiry period. The membership fee may be charged to the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card. To resign or opt out from the auto-renewal, a member must submit in writing his/her intentions to SAFRA at least 3 months before their membership expires. Please include your name and Membership number.
I would like to terminate my membership. How do I go about it?
If you wish to terminate your SAFRA membership, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and include your name and Membership number. Alternatively, you can write in to us and mail to SAFRA Membership Services Division, 2 Telok Blangah Way, Singapore 098803 or fax 6377 9866.
I am going overseas. Is there a way to put my membership on hold or waive my fees?
Of course! You may apply to be placed on the list of Absent Members if you are leaving Singapore for a continuous period of one year. The membership fees will be waived for the listed period of absence (maximum 3 years).
To apply, please write to SAFRA Membership Services Division or fax a request to 6377 9866 with your supporting documents (e.g. exit permit, letter from your employer or educational institute) one month before your departure.
Memberships will be extended for any earlier payment made for the period of absence. You may apply for an extension of the listed period of absence upon its expiry, subject to acceptance by SAFRA.

SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card
What is the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card?
SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Cards provide the convenience of multiple functionalities such as ATM, NETS Flashpay and MasterCard contactless payment features for public transport and retail transactions. The cards also double up as your SAFRA Membership card. Find out more about SAFRA DBS benefits here.
Is my SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card expiry date the same as my SAFRA Membership expiry date?
The expiry date on the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card only shows the expiry of the card. The SAFRA membership expiry may or may not be the same. If the validity of your SAFRA Membership is shorter than your SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card, your SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card will be deactivated upon the expiry of your SAFRA membership. Each member is only allowed to hold ONE (1) Membership Card (either SAFRA Membership Card, SAFRA DBS Credit Card or SAFRA DBS Debit Card).
Who can apply for the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card?
All SAFRA Principal, Associates, Veteran and Life members can apply if they meet the income requirement (for credit card) or have a relevant DBS Current/Savings account or POSB Savings account (for debit card).
If I convert to the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card, will my Dependent members receive the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card as well?
Dependent Members will continue to hold the SAFRA Membership Card unless they convert as well.
Female spouse or child dependent (above the age of 18) can apply for the supplementary SAFRA DBS Credit Card if the Principal Member's application for the SAFRA DBS Credit Card is approved.
Female spouse or child dependent (above the age of 16) can apply for the SAFRA DBS Debit Card if the Principal Member's application for the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card is approved.
Approvals of the Credit & Debit Cards are also subjected to application requirements of the DBS Credit and Debit Cards.
What is the Income Requirement for the SAFRA DBS Credit Card?
The Income Requirement to apply for a SAFRA DBS Credit Card is S$30,000 and above per annum.
Will there be additional fees like annual fees for the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card?
There is absolutely no additional annual fees for the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card. SAFRA Members will only be required to continue paying for their SAFRA membership fees. However, do note that as this is a Credit/Debit Card issued by DBS, members are to comply with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) ruling and will still be liable for any finance charges incurred.
I still have X years of membership left, can I apply for the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card?
Yes! Members who wish to convert from the SAFRA Membership Card to the SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card can do so at no additional cost. Application for the Credit/Debit card is subjected to DBS' approval.
How long do I have to wait to receive my SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card?
The average processing time of your SAFRA DBS Credit or Debit Card is approximately 4-6 weeks, subject to submission of all required forms and documents. Within 2 weeks of your application, DBS would notify you (either by mail or phone) on your application.
For Dependent Members, application for SAFRA DBS Supplementary Credit Card will only be processed once Principal Member’s SAFRA DBS Credit Card is approved.
I have not received my SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card. What should I do?
Step 1: Please contact SAFRA at 1800 377 9800 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out if your SAFRA Membership has been approved.
Step 2a: If your membership is approved, please contact DBS at 1800 111 1111 on the approval of the credit/debit card.
Step 2b: If your membership is not approved, you will be contacted by SAFRA on your application.
I received my SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit Card but yet to receive my welcome gift collection letter. What should I do?
The SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card is issued by DBS while the welcome gift collection letter is issued by SAFRA. Hence, there may be a difference of 1 week between receiving each item. To enquire on the welcome gift collection letter, please contact SAFRA at 1800 377 9800 or email email@example.com.
My husband and I share a joint DBS/POSB account. Can I use that for the SAFRA DBS Debit Card?
Both parties can apply for the SAFRA DBS Debit Card using the same joint account.

Yes, they do enjoy the same benefits except the right to vote.
May I bring my family and/or friends to use the facilities at SAFRA clubs?
SAFRA clubs are open to members and their family and friends for most SAFRA-managed facilities. Do visit our website on the various club facilities for more information.
As a SAFRA member, do I have to pay to use the facilities at EnergyOne or to join the Interest Groups?
SAFRA Members are welcomed to join EnergyOne Gyms or Interest Groups at nominal rates. Please view the entrance fee and membership fee charges for EnergyOne here.

Is my SAFRA Membership card transferable?
Your SAFRA Membership is exclusive to you and is non-transferable. Do remember to present your membership card when using SAFRA club facilities. Any misuse of SAFRA Membership may result in memberships being revoked.
How do I replace my SAFRA card if it's lost or damaged?
If your SAFRA Membership Card is lost or damaged, please visit any SAFRA club ( Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines, Toa Payoh and Yishun) to apply for a replacement card. A replacement fee of $10.70 (after GST) is chargeable for lost cards while damaged cards will be replaced at a fee of $3.21 (after GST).
